Just because I'm halfway around the world doesn't mean I couldn't enjoy the 2010 Vancouver Olympics. Yes sir! In fact we keener MSLS kids held our own hockey gold medal ceremony right here. See below!
Since I've been living in Sweden with a group of 70 students from around the world, I have realized all over again how beautiful Canada is, and how full of determination and identity Canadians are. I have to say that although I don't support some elements of the Olympics (due to their *occasional* ignorance of sustainability and Indigenous rights issues) I did feel kinda proud of the whole event. From what I saw over the past two weeks, Canadians showed our true colours; hosting the world proudly and winning and losing graciously. Thanks for being you, Canada!
Sudden Death!!?? Bring it on!
Triumph! Gooooooooo Team Canada!!
Canadians like to show our enthusiasm in special ways
The sheet where it all went down
It is kind of fitting that we won our most prized sport, on our home turf (that means you too, ladies!). And now a word to some strong competitors: Team U.S.A. fought well and hard. We love you second placers! (PS I bet you know where Canada is now, don't you? ;-)
